What to Expect at Camp
Team Up! for Fun Day Camp is designed for children with physical challenges ages four to 17 and their siblings. Parents will need to stay with children who are four years of age. Volunteer “buddies” are available to help children with physical needs enjoy camp. These “buddies” are physical therapy students from Carroll University. Campers whose primary needs are PHYSICAL are the focus of Team Up! camp. If your child has primarily behavioral, emotional, or sensory challenges, this camp is not a good fit for his/her needs. Campers ages 13 to 17 may register for our Teen Camp. Teen Camp activities are geared toward our older campers.
Camp activities provide experiential outdoor fun and learning opportunities with a group of 10 to 12 similarly aged campers. Many camp volunteers, planners, and assisting personnel have backgrounds in the rehab therapies of physical, occupational, or speech therapy. Each activity is planned around underlying therapeutic principles which may/can include:
- Gross and fine motor experiences
Lunch will be served each day. On Thursday at noon there will be a family picnic for all volunteers, campers, and their families. Please plan to come!
COST: A $75 camp fee per child ($200 max per family) is due at registration. A limited number of full and partial camperships are available. Families with a financial need may apply. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for a campership application for financial assistance.
